I stand with Planned Parenthood

I'm sure everyone has heard of Planned Parenthood. Some may have been to one whether it was for yourself, a sister, brother, or friend.

PPH is a clinic that provides free care for men, women, and teens.
You can get a free pap smear every year, FREE BIRTH CONTROL, advice, breast exams at the time of your pap, STD tests as well as being tested for HIV. You can get Gardasil, a series of 3 shots that protect against HPV, pregnancy tests and so much more.
Planned Parenthood also performs abortions. Yes, abortions.
That is why many don't like PPH. I personally don't believe in abortions, but I'm not getting into that right now. Another reason many parents don't like it is because, at least here in Cali, girls, and boys, can go in without parents consent if they at 13 years or older.
That's a pretty young age.

Planned Parenthood is so much more than an abortion clinic, then again you can go to just about any ob/gym for an abortion so I don't see the difference. And it's not like you just walk in and the do it that same day. Anyone looking for an abortion will be consulted, has to watch some videos, read some pamphlets, and have a thorough discussion with the clinician.

Planned Parenthood helps sooooo many people who can't afford insurance or whose insurance doesn't cover birth control.
It's for those whose parents didn't teach them to be safe, those whose parents aren't supportive, those whose religion doesn't allow it but they want to be safe and protected. It's for people to be treated if they happen to catch an STD or STI. Those who just need some real, proper and safe advice.

Planned parenthood will talk to you and work with you to see which birth control would be best for you. Be it the pill, depo shot, IUD, patch, ring, condoms. Any kind, they have it.
You will never be made to feel ashamed or embarrassed. Everything is strictly confidential and they even ask you which number is to contact you at or which address is ok to send information to in case they have to.

It is a great clinic and for it to lose it's funding would be a terrible thing. The reason it can be free for the rest of us is because of the government funding. I have been to planned parenthood many times and will continue to as long as it's there. I have two little ones and too many bills. I don't have health insurance of any kind so I don't know how I would be able to afford my birth control.
I'm medical assistant and the last place I was working at was a private doctor office but they were partnered with the PPH program and we had so many people come to be able to get their birth control and pap smears and they were able to get it free because of that. Women who would have otherwise never known that they have inflammation, or cysts or be able to get checked out because they couldn't afford health care. People who without it would not have been able to be treated of their STDs or to simply get checked to make sure they were clean.

If there is anything my money is going to be taken for from the government I want it to be used to help protect, educate, and treat men and women who really need the help.

I will be standing for Planned Parenthood and hope you will too!

The Year of the Rabbit

I'm a little late on it but I just found out this morning that 2011 is the year of the Rabbit.
And guess who's a rabbit? Yep, this Choolz right here! More specifically I am a Fire Rabbit.

It's no wonder why my 2011 has been pretty damn awesome so far, knock on wood lol.
I've had some really good money making opportunities come at me in this past month
and money itself has been something I haven't had to worry about.
Which is a huge blessing because a few months ago I almost broke down
not being able to even buy food.
And now I was able to pay off all of my medical bills :D
Things are also looking good for my husband.
Let's hope I didn't just jinx all of that...

A lot of the information I found that describes what a person born in the
year of the rabbit is like is pretty right on.

Here is a Chart that shows if you were born on a Rabbit year
29 January 1903 – 15 February 1904:  Water Rabbit
14 February 1915 – 2 February 1916:  Wood Rabbit
2 February 1927 – 22 January 1928:   Fire Rabbit
19 February 1939 – 7 February 1940:  Earth Rabbit
6 February 1951 – 26 January 1952:   Metal Rabbit
25 January 1963 – 12 February 1964: Water Rabbit
11 February 1975 – 30 January 1976: Wood Rabbit
29 January 1987 – 16 February 1988: Fire Rabbit
16 February 1999 – 4 February 2000  Earth Rabbit
3 February 2011 – 22 January 2012:  Metal Rabbit
22 January 2023 – 9 February 2024:  Water Rabbit

Did you know that the Rabbit is considered a lucky sign?
Rabbits are private individuals and a bit introverted.
People born in the year of the Rabbit are reasonably friendly individuals
who enjoy the company of a group of good friends.
They are good teachers, counselors and communicators, but also need their own space.

According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a year in which you can
catch your breath and calm your nerves.
It is a time for negotiation.
Don't try to force issues, because if you do you will ultimately fail.
To gain the greatest benefits from this time, focus on home, family,
security, diplomacy, and your relationships with women and children.
Make it a goal to create a safe, peaceful lifestyle, so you will be able to
calmly deal with any problem that may arise.

Sephora Haul

Last week I made trip out to the mall, which I haven't done in a long time, and the first thing I did was run to Sephora! Sephora, the makeup junkies paradise. Walking in there makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. I never know where to start or what to grab. I want it all.
You can find anything beauty related in this store. And the girls who work there are so nice, I love it.

I'm so excited about what I bought that I wanted to share it and do a post about it :)
Here goes!!!

1. Dr. FeelGood from Benefit - I've wanted this for a long time. It is a balm-like cream that is applied to the face before or after makeup(I prefer before) to reduce appearance of fine lines and, most importantly, give the skin a matte appearance. I have combination skin which means I have an oily t-zone and after awhile my forehead and nose start to look shiny. I hate that. I've heard some good reviews about Dr. FeelGood and I love Benefit Cosmetics so I wanted to give this a try. It left my skin soft and isn't heavy. It is truly clear, I couldn't tell at first if I had even applied it.
It doesn't of course, hide all shiny-ness but I did notice a significant difference, I only had to blot my face once or twice. I'm impressed and do recommend this.

2. Sephora eyelash curler - What girl doesn't want to have big, full, long, curly lashes? I know I do. Unfortunately for me I don't have very long lashes at all and on top of that they don't like to curl. I've
gone through many several curlers and none have worked for me. I have stubborn lashes, they fall flat after about 15 minutes. I'm not kidding, they just don't stay curled so I always end up wearing falsies. Not that I'm complaining, I love wearing them, they make me feel girly, flirty, and pretty. But I don't want to wear them everyday of course so a good curler is needed. I believe I have found my perfect eyelash curler. The Sephora brand curler. The second I held it, I knew it was going to work. The shape, and opening are different from other curlers I've used. And when I close it on the lashes it has a very firm grip and three squeezes leaves my lashes completely curled and looks pretty awesome. I'll definitely be sticking to this one.

3. Sephora dual pencil sharpener - I haven't had a sharpener in quite some time. I rarely use pencil anything for makeup so there was no need. I'm more of a liquid liner kinda girl. But I recently found some really good pencils from Rimmel London and Sephora (see item #4) that work amazing as base colors. There isn't much I can say about this, it's just a sharpener but it works well. My pencils haven't been caught by the razor or been broken while sharpening and it stays closed so I don't have to worry about it spilling everywhere.

4. Sephora eyecream stick in white - Not so much love here! It has slight shimmer to it and it applies so smoothly and is really easy to blend and I was hoping to use it as a base color to make my eyeshadows pop more. But, it creases horribly after a few hours, even with primer. I was not happy at all with it. It could work as a liner on your lower lashes but on you eyelids it's not worth it at all. Time to keep looking.

5. Makeup Forever Concealer - a.maze.ing!! This concealed is my life saver. I love love love it.
I had my eyebrows tattooed several years back and the girl messed them up. Bad. They're black instead of brown, the arches don't match, one almost hits my nose and the tails are too long. Believe me it's horrible what she did. While I save up to get laser removal I need a concealer that will cover and stay put. I've tried so many different kinds, I'm talking over 15+ concealers and none have worked except for one from Clinique. But this one is waterproof, light, and blends in perfectly to my skin. It hides the tattoo so well. It's great also for dark circles or discoloration on the face. This is an amazing concealer, I wish I could kiss the person who invented it!

6. Clinique Perfectly Real powder in 116G - my favorite powder. What can I say? It's awesome. Perfect color for me, light but with great coverage. Smooth to apply. Overall greatness. It leaves my face looking soft and blends really well. I've been using this for a long time and it doesn't allow any oil or shine to break through like the MAC studio fix. I highly recommend it!
